Dear Mr. McDermott,

I am the Public Records Request Specialist for the Vermont Department of Public Safety. Yesterday I received two emails from you regarding two separate public records requests.

The first request was originally dated February 14, 2018, and asked for "[a]ll files and associated materials related to the disappearance of Audrey Groat." I have a record of Heidi Storm, Records and Alarm Administrator, Vermont State Police, responding to this request on July 10, 2018, stating the estimated time it would take to respond to this request and quoting the cost for staff time to prepare the response. I have no record of you responding to this July 10, 2018 email.

The second request you forwarded to me was originally dated March 26, 2018, and also asked for "[a]ll files and associated materials related to the disappearance of Audrey Groat." However, you also stated that this was an "amendment" to a FOIA request, and you specifically asked for "all audio and video recordings associated with interviews of Patric Jarvis...performed throughout or in the course of the Audrey Groat missing persons and following criminal investigations, starting on 8-21-1993."

Could you please tell me if you are only interested in the records sought in the second request? Should we consider the first request closed, or would you like to submit payment for the estimated staff time it would take to properly review and redact the voluminous records associated with that request?

If you would like to speak by telephone my direct number is listed below.

Thank you.
