Pursuant to the Washington Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

From the Vancouver Police Department (VPD), the following ALPR data for calendar year 2017:

(1) Number of vehicles equipped with ALPR systems within the Department’s fleet
(2) Number of license plates captured with ALPR systems
(3) Number of crime related vehicles located using the ALPR system
(4) Number of non-criminal queries, such as attempts to locate a missing endangered person

And the following current information:

(5) All policies, guidelines, manuals and/or instructions on department use of ALPR
(6) Make and model of ALPRs in use by the VPD
(7) A list of all agencies with which the VPD is sharing ALPR data

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Due to the City’s other currently outstanding public records requests that we are in the process of responding to, I anticipate that the City will need until 9/20/2018 to locate and assemble the requested documents and to determine whether any of the information requested is exempt from disclosure.
