FOIA Request No. F-2019-00185

Dear Ms. Best,

From: Federal Reserve Board of Governors

The request has been rejected as being too vague, burdensome or otherwise unprocessable.

From: Federal Reserve Board of Governors

Dear Ms. Best:

This is in response to your e-mail message dated and received by the Board's Information Disclosure Section on May 21, 2019.

Thank you,

From: Emma Best

I am appealing the decision to reject the request on grounds that it is "burdensome" when the caselaw makes it clear that this does not apply, see Shapiro v. CIA, No. 14-00019, 2016 WL 1069646 (D.D.C. Mar. 17, 2016) (Cooper, J.) which makes it clear that searches for documents referencing, mentioning or describing a subject is a sufficiently described FOIA request, "regardless of how onerous it might be to locate them." Further, case law also establishes that, even arguendo, Agency's should attempt to clarify requests rather than unilaterally reject them.

A fix is required to perfect the request.

Modify "pertain" to "mention." The caselaw cited establishes that this is valid. Thanks!
