Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
Hello, Can you please help me find Walla Walla District records of the National Fallout Shelter Survey (ca. 1961-1962 or later) that relate to the preliminary inventory, survey, and utilization of mines, caves, highway tunnels, and railroad tunnels as fallout shelters? This could include 1960s-era internal memos, reports or correspondence with the Department of Defense Office of Civil Defense, the Northwest Division of the Navy Bureau of Yards and Docks, Washington State Civil Defense Department, county and city civil defense directors, and private architect-engineers employed to survey these sites.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
