To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

Archived FBI records concerning Vadim Medish, an American citizen born in Minsk, Soviet Union on October 28, 1924.Medish is deceased. See Washington Post, May 25, 2011. (https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/obituaries/vadim-medish-au-emeritus-professor-and-expert-on-soviet-history-dies-at-86/2011/05/25/AGJLfUBH_story.html?utm_term=.bc9506ddb014)

In response to a FOIA request, the Bureau responded by saying "a search of the Central Records System conducted for law enforcement records indicated that
potentially responsive records have been sent to NARA. If you wish to review these potentially responsive records,
send your request to NARA at the following address using file number 151-HQ-1500 as a reference."

I seek copies of these records or identifying information so that I can view them in person. I live in Washington DC.

As a 35 year veteran of Washington journalism, I request a fee waiver. The documents I seek concerns U.S. government operations and activities. Their disclosure is likely to contribute to understanding of these operations or activities. Specifically, disclosure will likely result in public understanding of CIA "mole hunt" of the 1960s, which has been the subject of many books and continuing controversy.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Jefferson Morley

RE; requets 61144

II belated noticed the fee waiver letter. That is fine with me given the small number of document pages involved.

Please continue to process request 61144
