Re: Freedom of Information/Privacy Act Request No. 2016USMS30605
Subject of Request: Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests

Dear Requester:

The United States Marshals Service (USMS) is responding to for "all emails, documents, logs, notes or other written records of all United States Marshals Service employees assigned to the Technical Operations Group and Financial Services Division from 2005 to the present that contain the following search terms: Military Interdepartmental Purchase Request or MIPR."
The records you seek are not USMS records. Therefore, we are unable to assist you.

For your information, Congress excluded three discrete categories of law enforcement and national security records from the requirements of the FOIA. See 5 U.S.C. 552(c ) (2006 & Supp. IV (2010)). This response is limited to those records that are subject to the requirements of the FOIA. This is a standard notification that is given to all our requesters and should not be taken as an indication that excluded records do, or do not, exist.

Sincerely,

William E. Bordley

Hello -

The records I seek are for the Technical Operations Group of the US Marshals. It is unclear, then, how these records are not USMS records.

Please advise.

Best,
Shawn Musgrave
