This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:
All records on, about, mentioning, or concerning trademark license requests considered by the TMLO (Trademark Licensing Office) where the request was from a company wishing to manufacture a Marine Corps energy drink or a company pitching a line of USMC themed condoms.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Dear Mr. Smathers,
I have inquiried with the TMLO office regarding the status of your request. As we stated in our May 10, 2012 letter, we identified
and retrieved the first 100 pages of documents. They were sent to the vendor for review. To date, the office has received about 1/3
of the information. Their due date to fully respond to the Marine Corps is June 20, 2012. If they do not respond by that date, we
will reconsider releasability of the 100 pages.
Once they receive the information, the office would need a few days for review and comment back to me regarding releasability.
