We received your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request 2022-01015-F, which seeks the following:

To Whom It May Concern: Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records: The slideshow and any training materials taken from the Joint Base Andrews Intel brief in Maryland, which was a threat brief regarding an "increase in nationwide activity" by "incels," members of a subculture of "involuntary celibacy." A slide from this training was posted publicly to the Facebook group amn/nco/snco, and was also posted on the Task & Purpose website. https://taskandpurpose.com/air-force-joint-base-andrews-incels-threat-brief Its authenticity was confirmed to 11th Wing spokesman Aletha Frost in an email to Task & Purpose. The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes. In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available. If you choose to deny this request, please provide a written explanation for the denial, including a reference to the specific statutory exemption(s) upon which you rely. Also, please provide all segregable portions of otherwise exempt material. Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. Our organization has a significant number of pending FOIA requests. Therefore, we implemented a multi-track processing for requests. The FOIA Fee Restriction prevents DoD Components from charging commercial or “other” requesters search fees, or representatives of the news media or educational requesters duplication fees if respond do not occur within 20 or 30 working days for unusual circumstances (documents not located with the office processing the FOIA request, the responsive records are voluminous, or required consultation with another agency). Fee restrictions do not apply if responsive records total more than 5,000 pages, and this office has made three or more good-faith attempts to discuss with you, how to effectively limit the scope of your request.

We placed you in the “Other” fee category for processing. Under this category, you may be charged for search and duplication (paper) costs. The first two hours of search time and the first 100 pages of duplication are furnished without charge.

If you disagree and interpret this response as an adverse action, you may write to the Secretary of the Air Force, Thru: 1539 D Street, Suite 27 Andrews AFB, MD 20762 within 90 calendar days from the date of this letter. Include in the appeal your reasons for reconsideration, and attach a copy of this letter.
