To Whom It May Concern,

This is to provide you with a status update regarding Log No. 17-00028. Due to the USDA OIG’s backlog of FOIA requests, processing is continuing to take longer than anticipated. Therefore, we currently estimate that your request will be completed by November 30, 2018. There are still requests ahead of yours in the queue and we process requests on a first-in, first-out basis. OIG processes requests on a first-in, first-out, basis using “multi-tracks.” There are four tracks: a simple track for relatively simple requests; a complex track for more complex and lengthy requests; an expedited track; and a remanded track, when a FOIA appeal is granted. Your request is currently in the simple track.

The FOIA Office has limited resources, and we are making every effort to process the requested documents as soon as possible in accordance with our processing procedures. We must follow our procedures so that all FOIA requesters in the queue are treated equitably. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any additional questions at (202) 690-0563.

Thank you,

Michael
