Hello,

I am currently working in a different office but you may contact Sandra Wright at Sandra.J.Wright@hud.gov<mailto:Sandra.J.Wright@hud.gov> for a status update on the request.

Thanks.

Mr. Morisy,

Eugene McGirt was kind enough to forward your inquiry to me. As Mr. McGirt is on a detail with a different office, I have taken over the handling of this case. A final package has been prepared for release and placed into the final review queue. Once the Office of General Counsel signs off on the release, we will send the records to you immediately. I apologize for the delay in processing. It took quite a bit of time to track down quite a few different transition-related records around the agency, but we have consolidated everything into a single briefing book that is ready for release (pending the final signature mentioned above).

Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions or concerns.
Best,

Dylan,

Your request for "all the Housing and Urban Development emails that mention Ben Carson from January 2015 to the present" may need modifying. Every e-flyer publicizing an event at HUD has Ben Carson mentioned.

I have attached HUD News Briefing newsletters and Daily Clips that mention Ben Carson and represent 95% of the emails based on your current request. Those are just miscellaneous, general newsletters and clips that wouldn't be of any consequence to what you would like to acquire.

Would you like to modify your request to a specific topic matter? Or, emails to/from agency officials that mention Ben Carson aside from HUD Happenings newsletters and Daily Clips?

Mr. Morisy,

Your FOIA request, 17-FI-HQ-00337, is finalized, signed, and ready to release. The file size is 89 megabytes, which exceeds our attachment size limit in Outlook. I wanted to touch base with you to see whether MuckRock has any direct file upload capabilities. In the past, we have used dropboxes for many of our media requesters to get around the file size limit. If that is available, please provide any pertinent info. If not, I can either chop the file up into smaller files and email them separately, or try and get ahold of a CD or flash drive to send via mail. This last option is not guaranteed, as we do not use CDs much anymore, and the concern with mailing flash drives is that we do not get them back. So, it's a last resort.

Let me know if you have any thoughts, and we can move forward accordingly.
Best,

Ethan

Mr. Morisy,

Just checking in again. Please see my below message from January 18, discussing our limitations with email attachment size. If possible, we can send this via dropbox or some other type of file sharing or online drive. At your earliest convenience, please let me know.
