TMLO condoms and energy drink communication (US Marines)

To Whom It May Concern:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

All TMLO records concerning a request from a company wishing to manufacture a Marine Corps energy drink as well as a company pitching
a line of USMC themed condoms.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

SUBJECT: FILE NUMBER HQMC-201100694

This refers to your August 26, 2011, Freedom of Information Act request in which you seek to obtain
all trademark license requests considered by the TMLO where the request was from a company wishing to
manufacture a Marine Corps energy drink or a company pitching a line of USMC themed condoms.

This request is a duplicate of HQMC-201100250, which is already undergoing processing for the
same information. There is additional clarification we are seeking from the cognizant office. Once we
receive it, we will move ahead toward completion. Please be advised however, that any identified
responsive documents pertaining to this request will have to be reviewed by the Vendor for release
considerations before we can make a determination. We will keep you posted.
