To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
A copy of the The Study Committee Report on FBI Counterintelligence Programs AKA the Petersen report, provided to the Pike Committee in 1975.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
There are eFOIA files available for you to download.
I am appealing the redactions in their entirety, as the names redacted are part of the public court records and thus are not protected by b6 and b7C, nor is there an expectation of privacy due to the nature of the public filings.
I am further appealing the integrity of the search, as even a prima facie review of the documents suggests that at least one version of the report was not included in the release.
The Office of Information Policy has received your FOIA Appeal. Please see the attached acknowledgment letter.
The Office of Information Policy has made its final determination on your FOIA Appeal Number A-2020-00411 . A copy of this determination is enclosed for your review, along with any enclosures, if applicable. Thank you.
