Dear Mr. Rony:
I am from the Department of Commerce, Departmental FOIA Office. I am writing regarding a FOIA request you submitted March 20, 2017, Tracking No. DOC-OS-2017-000840. We are in the process of producing a fee estimate in response to this FOIA request. However, so far without having received all of the fee estimates from all the Bureaus, the fee estimate is very high. I wanted to give you the opportunity to narrow your request. As stated your request would require that we go out to each employee in the Department which includes 14 Bureaus. For your convenience below is a list of our Bureaus. If you could narrow your request to a Bureau of interest or individuals at certain levels, i.e., Secretary, Deputy Secretary or Assistant Deputy Secretary, etc. of each bureau or the Bureau you choose. They could bring the fee est down, or not even require an estimate be presented. If you would like to discuss further I can reached at 202-482-1485.
