Communications
From: Joseph Uchill
To Whom It May Concern:
This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act.
On the Sept 24 "This Week" television broadcast (see https://twitter.com/ThisWeekABC/status/911944786457669633), Secretary Mnuchin said a reason he has opted not to use commercial airlines for air travel is "There are times when I need secure communications."
I hereby request the following records:
Documents showing the frequency of use of secure communications by Secretary Mnuchin of secure communications on non-commercial airline aircraft not available on commercial aircraft.
This could be redacted communications logs during air travel showing only dates, times, or durations of secured communications; reports from the office of the CIO or CISO (or emails or memos from the CIO or CISO) about the use or need to use secure communications, emails; or memos from the Secretary or staff acting specifically on the Secretary's behalf requesting or describing the need for secure communications.
This could also be the opposite - communications logs showing no such conversations; reports from the CIO or CISO showing no use or no need to use secured communications or emails or memos SENT or RECEIVED by the Secretary or staff acting on the Secretary's behalf negating, declining or discussing the lack of need for secure communications
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Joseph Uchill
