This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:
A copy of all responses sent to Congressional committees between Jan.1, 2008 and the date that this request is processed. These communications are stored together and should be easily accessible.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

As stated in the acknowledgement letter dated may 9, 2013, USSOCOM has a substantial number of pending FOIA cases, therefore, we process on a multi-track processing system based on the date of receipt and the amount of work and time involved in processing the request. We have a substantial amount of requests ahead of yours. I estimate 6 to 9 months to process your request; however, it could be more or less. Please feel free to contact me for status.

We can assure you that we are diligently working all requests in order to provide a timely response. As stated in the acknowledgement letter dated May 9, 2013, and in the below email dated June 13, 2013, USSOCOM has a substantial number of pending FOIA cases that are processed according to the date of receipt and the amount of work and time involved in processing the request. There are approximately 150 FOIA Requests ahead of yours. We estimate 6 to 9 months to process your request; however, it could be more or less.

We are searching for records responsive to your request; however, your request is quite broad. I believe that we would be able to respond sooner if you would be willing to accept a list of documents.
