To Whom It May Concern:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

A copy of all responses sent to Congressional committees between Jan.1, 2008 and the date that this request is processed. These communications are stored together and should be easily accessible.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Michael Morisy

Greetings Mr. Morisy,

Your request is being processed in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) , 5 U.S.C. S. 5, as amended. Requests are processed in the order they are received.

Documents that we believe to be responsive to your request have been located, and these documents are currently under review. Because of the subject matter of the potentially responsive documents, they will require review by multiple NRO components. It is also expected that these documents will require review by another agency prior to the NRO's final release determination. At this point, we anticipate that it will require approximately two months from this date to complete the processing of your request.

Since we have been unable to provide a response to you within the 20 working days stipulated by the FOIA, you have the right to consider this a denial, and you may appeal to the NRO Appeal Review Panel, 14675 Lee Road, Chantilly, VA 20151-1715.

It would seem more reasonable, however, to allow us sufficient time to continue processing your request and respond as soon as we are able. You will have the right to appeal any denial of records at that time. Unless we hear from you otherwise, we will assume that you agree, and will continue processing your request on this basis.

If you have additional questions about this case, please contact the Requester Service Center at 703-227-9326, and reference case #F13-0086.

Greetings,

Documents that we believe to be responsive to your request have been located, and these documents are currently under review. Because of the subject matter of the potentially responsive documents, they require review by multiple NRO components. It has also been determined that these documents will require review by another agency prior to the NRO's final release determination.

For these reasons, your case was placed in our "COMPLEX" case queue. Requests are processed in the order they are received. Based on the NRO's current caseload, available resources for case processing, and the necessity for NRO-external review of these documents, we expect a minimum of 45-60 days from this date will be required to complete your request.

Since we have been unable to provide a response to you within the 20 working days stipulated by the FOIA, you have the right to consider this a denial, and you may appeal to the NRO Appeal Review Panel, 14675 Lee Road, Chantilly, VA 20151-1715.
