To Whom It May Concern:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

A copy of all responses sent to Congressional committees between Jan.1, 2008 and the date that this request is processed. These communications are stored together and should be easily accessible.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Michael Morisy

Good morning, Mr. Morisy,

When you have a chance, please give me a call to discuss the FOIA request you recently filed with the National Cancer Institute (NCI). You asked for "[a] copy of all responses sent to Congressional committees between Jan. 1, 2008 and the date that this request is processed." I need to determine which documents you are interested in obtaining. Is there a particular response you are looking for? Do you want all of the attachments sent to Congress along with NCI's responses (if so, the amount of responsive records could become voluminous)? It's also possible that what you are looking for is a response sent from NIH and not sent by NCI. If we can narrow the scope of your request, it should help us cut down the response time and limit the potential fees.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Thanks so much for your time on the phone narrowing this request. To confirm, in agreed to restrict this request to the cover letters of communications to the heads of congressional inquiries, and exclude attachments and responses to individual members of congress.

Good morning, Mr. Morisy,

I saw that you sent us two e-mails this morning asking for information regarding the FOIA requests you submitted to the National Cancer Institute from the following e-mail addresses: requests@muckrock.com and requests@muckrock.com. I sent you a letter on May 8, 2013, informing you that your three requests were consolidated into NCI FOIA Case # 13-079, NIH FOIA Case #41293. I've attached another copy of the letter for your convenience.

Please give me a call if you have any questions.

Tim
