To Whom It May Concern:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

A copy of all responses sent to Congressional committees between Jan.1, 2008 and the date that this request is processed. These communications are stored together and should be easily accessible.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Michael Morisy

Dear  Mr. Morisy: This confirms receipt of your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, dated May 6, 2013.  Your request was received in the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) FOIA office on May 6, 2013, and assigned the FHFA
FOIA request number 2013-FOIA-075.  Please refer to this number in any correspondence concerning your request. You requested the following information: "A copy of all responses sent to Congressional committees between Jan.1, 2008 and the date that this request is processed. These communications are stored together and should be easily accessible.."
You also requested a fee waiver.  Based on our review of the information you provided in your request (request is in the public interest...documents will be made available to the general public free of charge...processed by a representative of the news media/press),
FHFA has determined that your response does not adequately meet the statutory standard for granting a fee waiver, as set forth in the FOIA, 5 U.S.C. 552(a)(4)(A)(iii), and FHFA’s FOIA regulation, 5 CFR 1202.11(h). Therefore, your request for a waiver of fees
is denied.
Please note that pursuant to the FOIA and FHFA regulation, 12 CFR Part 1202.11(b), you have been categorized as a “representative of the news media” requester and will be charged for duplication cost in excess
of 100 pages. Please note that fees are not automatically waived for representatives of the news.
Please note that the FHFA processes requests under a multi-track system (standard and complex).  After review of your request, it has been determined that your request will be placed in the simple track. FOIA requests are placed in this track based on the volume
and/or simplicity
of records requested. Your FOIA request is releasable to the public under subsequent FOIA requests. In responding to these requests, FHFA does not release personal information, such as home or email addresses and home or mobile telephone
numbers, all of which are protected from disclosure under FOIA Exemption 6 (5 U.S.C. § 552(b)(6)). If you have any questions regarding the processing of your request, please contact us at foia@fhfa.gov or 202-649-3803. Sincerely, Stacy J. Easter Freedom of Information Act/Privacy Officer

Mr. Morisy

At this time I cannot give you a precise estimate as that would depend upon the volume of documents located in response to a search, which would have an impact on the time to review and redact any information. Further, at this time there are 11 complex requests, in various stages, ahead of yours in the queue.
