Copies of processing notes for FOIAPA Request No.: 1329053-000 (Request for information/records on E. Howard Hunt.)
I'm the author of a blog on the Kennedy assassination, jfkresearch.me.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

I wanted to follow up on my request for an appeal in order to underscore the incredulity with which I view the bureau's rejection of my request for processing notes for my original FOIA on Hunt. I would point out that Hunt, to the best of my knowledge, retired from the CIA 45 years ago, in 1970. Furthermore, he was active in Watergate, a scandal that ended in 1974 with Nixon's resignation. Hunt's possible involvement in the Kennedy assassination happened (if it did) even before Hunt's resignation and the end of Watergate. These are the reasons why I find the bureau's rejection of my FOIA for processing notes to be extremely difficult to understand. John Kirsch

I hereby appeal this rejection of my FOIA request based on the three exemptions cited in the FBI rejection letter, specifically exemption (b)(7)(e), to wit, that releasing the information "would disclose techniques and procedures for law enforcement investigations or prosecutions, or would disclose guidelines for law enforcement investigations or prosecutions if such disclosure could reasonably be expected to risk circumvention of the law."
I find the use of the three cited exemptions, in particular the one I just quoted, difficult to understand in light of the fact that Mr. Hunt, the subject of my original FOIA, died in 2007, and that I had asked one question in particular in my original FOIA pertaining to Mr. Hunt's whereabouts on or about Nov. 22, 1963, the day President Kennedy was assassinated, an event that happened more than 50 years ago.
