Request for Processing Notes and Search Slips for FOIA #F-2012-01688

To Whom It May Concern:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

I am seeking copies of all processing notes and search slips, including electronic requests made on CIA databases, such as (though not exclusively) ARCINS or CADRE, for my FOIA request F-2012-01688, which was sent to your agency's FOIA office on July 7, 2012. The request concerned "information or records on a CIA Inspector General report regarding allegations of the use of mind-altering drugs by the CIA to facilitate interrogation of detainees."

The FOIA request included "the text of the [IG] report, and any subsequent written comments, replies, emails, or other response to the report itself." A response to my request from Michele Meeks, CIA Information and Privacy Coordinator, dated September 16, 2014, stated that no records responsive to my request could be located.

Please include all remarks, comments, notes, explanations, etc. made by your personnel or contractors about the processing of the FOIA request F-2012-01688. In addition, also included in this request are any analysts' notes made during the processing of FOIA request F-2012-01688, any standard worksheets completed by analysts, any justifications for exemption invocations or other supporting documentation provided, and any correspondence referencing the request, including tasking orders, emails, memos, search slips, and coordinating documentation.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
