Dear Ms. Mendiaz,

I'm just writing to follow up on our telephone conversation today. As I said, my request relates specifically to a no-fly zone in Ferguson, Missouri. As my request's classification, I am a professional journalist who regularly contributes to national media outlets like the Boston Globe, Al Jazeera America, Salon and GlobalPost. So I believe that my request should be classified as a media request.

Would you please let me know if the FAA will reconsider my fee waiver request in light of my status as a professional journalist, or whether I need to submit a formal appeal to your denial of my fee waiver request?

Thank you so much for your time and help!

Sincerely,
Joshua Eaton

From: FAA

Good Afternoon Mr. Eaton,

I will notify you if there are any fees for the information requested. As
a Media requestor the first 100 pages of any copies are free, if there are

recordings if they exist? Please let me know at the phone number below.

Under Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations 7.44(b) and (e), fees are not
charged to representatives of the news media for search, review, and
documentation under 100 pages. All other reproduction fees are payable by
the requester.

Good Afternoon Mr. Eaton,

I wanted to touch base with you regarding your FOIA. There are voice recordings from another FOIA that was released, that would cost $30.00. There is about a 2 minute conversation between the Kansas City Center and the St. Louis County Missouri Police Dept. The recording is about an hour and a half. Do you want to pay for these recordings considering there is only a two to three minute conversation?

Mr. Eaton,

This is all the data responsive to the FOIA request. I just wanted to make sure you were willing to pay – the recordings will state another FOIA number because the facility can’t filter it out, and it had only 2 to 3 minutes of your responsive data, the rest is other material recorded.

Thank you,

Hello Ms. Parra,

A check for $30 will be made out this afternoon. Can you identify exactly to whom the check should be made and where it should be sent?

Thank you!

Please do not make out the check until I mail the records to you with an invoice
