As a grand jury is one of the most important roles a citizen can play, and because their makeup should represent that of the jursdiction in which they are seleted and
as such it is often stated that these selectee's are chosen "at random" which while admirable, without transparancy "random" has little to no actual meaning
and as such this FOIA request is for any documentation on the algorithm or algorithms used to "randomly" select those grand juries.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Mr. Davis - The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Washington plays no role in the selection of members of the grand jury. Your request might be better directed to the Clerk of the Court for the Western District of Washington. Here is the link to the court webpage: http://www.wawd.uscourts.gov/ it contains information on jury service including grand jury, and has contact information for court staff.
Additionally, should you have further questions or FOIA requests for a U.S. Attorney's Office, the procedure is to file such a request with the Department of Justice using this link: https://www.justice.gov/usao/resources/making-foia-request This will ensure that the request is processed appropriately.
Hope this helps.
