To Whom It May Concern:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

I am looking for any records, especially electronic media or audio recordings, of Martin Luther King's "I have a dream" speech created by the FBI or any US Government agency. Such audio recordings would be in the public domain due to being created by a government agency, and open for use should they be available.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

James Joseph Hartnett III

A copy of documents responsive to the request.

From: Federal Bureau of Investigation

A cover letter granting the request and outlining any exempted materials, if any.

From: James Joseph Hartnett III

Apologies for the late follow up, but the notices had not been delivered to me properly due a technical issue with how I received correspondence.
These records do not complete my request, nor do the agency responses contain any mention of the primary object of this request. I am already familiar with the FBI vault and had checked that first. My concern is whether or not any electronic or analog recordings exist of Kings' speech which were created by the US government.

Regards,

-James Hartnett
