Dear Mr. Weisensee,
I am writing in response to your Freedom of Information Act request of
September 18, 2018 for records in the custody of the National Archives and
Records Administration. Your request was received in this office on October
2nd and assigned FOIA case number 58822.
You requested access to FBI case file 94-HQ-67331. My initial assessment
confirms that Raymond H. Thornton Jr. is in fact the subject of this file.
The file contains 2 pages, compiled as part of a research matters
investigation conducted between November 17, 1972 and February 8, 1973. As
reviewed under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act, there are no
restrictions on access and this file is open and available for research.
I have attached a courtesy copy of the file to this message for your
convenience.
You also requested a search of our FBI case file index for records relating
to Thornton. We have conducted a search of all
available indexes transferred to the National Archives, but were unable to
identify any additional materials related to your subject.
This concludes the processing of your request. If you have additional
questions concerning my review of this file, please contact me directly at
christopher.abraham@nara.gov or 301-837-2958.
