Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

Any documentation or plans regarding how logs cleared for fire lines are tracked and documented for the Calf Canyon and Hermits Peak Fires, in the Santa Fe, Pecos, and Carson National Forests.

Any documentation pertaining to contractors hired to do post-fire salvage logging for Calf Canyon and Hermits Peak Fires in the Santa Fe, Pecos, and Carson National Forests. This includes lists of contractors hired to do post-fire salvage logging, MOUs and contracts made between those entities and the USFS, USFS guidance and best practices around post-fire salvage logging, and any and all documentation on where post-fire timber is being sold.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

The Washington Office FOIA Service Center is working diligently to respond to the backlog of pending FOIA requests and appeals. We currently have a large amount of potentially responsive content that is ready for the review process. A cursory review to process your case, indicates that many of the pages will likely be deemed not responsive to your request, however that can only be determined through the detailed review process.
