Good Morning Mr. Rudenberg,

Your FOIA request seeking,

All applications for and subsequent communications to/from the applicant, for the following Part 107 waivers: Visual line of sight aircraft operation (§ 107.31); Visual observer (§ 107.33); Operation over people (§ 107.39) is too broad in scope and needs to be narrowed down for the FAA-Flight Standards (FS) to process your request.

Please reply back by narrowing the scope and provide a specific time frame, no greater than six months. This will enable FS to process your request.

You may narrow it to the most recent six month period for which data is available.

From: Federal Aviation Administration

Good Morning Mr. Rudenburg,

FAA-Flight Standards (FS) has estimated that the fees to process your FOIA request will be in excess of $125000, to Search for documents for the recent six months.

The Fee Category for this FOIA request is ‘All Other’. You are charged for the ‘Search’ of records after 2 hours. The fee estimate above is for the 2000 hours it will take to Search for records.

In order for FS to proceed, you must agree to the estimated fees. We suggest a narrowing of a much shorter time span will reduce the estimated fee.

Reply back with your plan/decision. If we do not receive your response by March 9 (Close of Business), we will assume you are not interested in pursuing this FOIA request and it will be cancelled.
