This request is made on behalf of Documented, a news media requester, and we agree to pay all applicable fees. We request the document search and production be granted expedited processing.

Federal agencies are required to provide expedited processing of a FOIA request when a requester demonstrates a “compelling need” for the information requested. A compelling need is demonstrated when there is an urgency to inform the public about government activity and the request is made by a person primarily engaged in disseminating information. 43 CFR §2.20, Here there is an urgency to inform the public about any communication that took place between NPS officials and the listed entities above who were involved in the protest that took place on January 6, 2021 which turned into a deadly capitol riot. It is important to provide this information in an expedited manner in order to enhance the quality of ongoing investigations and analysis prior to their conclusion. Providing this potential information after investigations into the events that took place are already underway or completed, will be greatly diminished. As discussed above, Documented is solely engaged in disseminating information and is uniquely situated to analyze and provide information for the public. This information fulfills a compelling need of providing public understanding of any imminent federal government actions as it relates to election integrity.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Jesse Coleman
