To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

I am requesting twoaudit reports that relate to the EOIR's data management.

1. In May, 2019 the OIG issued a summary report called "Audit of the Executive Office for Immigration Review’s Justice Consolidated Office Network/ eWorld System Pursuant to the Federal Information Security Modernization Act of 2014 Fiscal Year 2018." A link to that report is here: https://oig.justice.gov/reports/2019/a1925.pdf. It is Audit Division 19-24.

The report references an " attached auditors' report dated December 10, 2018." I am writing to request the auditor's report.

2. It is Audit Division 19-25.

The report references an " attached auditors' report dated December 10, 2018." I am writing to request the auditor's report.

I am making this request as a representative of DocuFreedom LLC a Kansas non-profit organization.

I am a member of the news media and am making this request for purposes of writing a news story on EOIR's data management. I am requesting that any fees be waived because of my news member status. I am also requesting that any fees be waived because this request is not made for a commercial purpose and is instead only intended to obtain records to share them through news reporting.

I am asking that the processing of this request be expedited because of extreme public interest in this information. In recent months several reports from Syracuse University's Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse have made clear there are ongoing data management issues at EOIR that have not been addressed. The risk is that the agency's reporting of data to the public and to Congress has been repeatedly inaccurate even after multiple reports and requests to correct these reports. A summary of these concerns is here. https://trac.syr.edu/immigration/reports/614/. Given the public interest in having accurate data from the EOIR and the timeliness of this issue (and given how limited this request is) the agency should expedite this request.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Matthew Hoppock
