I do not speak by phone, email will have to suffice. I imagine that the difficulty may enter into the network-wide issue, which I understand may be problematic. I'm more than happy to work on a way to limit the scope so as to reduce the burden on your office while still getting me the materials I'm interested in. Please clarify if that's the issue and if you have any suggestions on how to proceed. If it is but you don't have any immediate suggestions, I will try to describe the purpose behind my interest in the hopes that will clarify things or suggest a way to proceed.
From: Mike Hennigan
Thank you for your response. Please let me know which subject area/type of complaints you are seeking regarding the television networks mention in your request. Example, are you looking for service, indecency, billing or all complaints filed against the networks?
From: Michael Best
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I'm interested in content complaints, which I suppose would fall under indecency?
The purpose behind the request is to look at the impact that Donald Trump's railing against these subjects has had in terms of complaints. There's been a sharp rise of complaints on social media, but I don't feel that's entirely indicative. My theory is that looking at the complaints (but the content of them and the number of them) over time will provide some insight into how Donald Trump and his supporters have impacted the views people have of these subjects and whether or not it appears to have created a negative view bias resulting in increased general complaints.
Does that help? Let me know if and how I can clarify further. I realize this request is relatively imprecise and want to make it as easy as possible for you and your colleagues to process it.
