This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

Copies of policies and procedures for issuance of commercial use authorizations on the National Mall, and also copies of any such commercial use authorizations during 2011 and 2012.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

In accordance with 43 CFR 2.8(a), a requester must describe the
records in sufficient detail to enable an employee familiar with the
subject area of the request to locate responsive records with a
reasonable amount of effort. Your request does not meet this

1.) Are you seeing policies and contracts related to concessions
contracts for services on the National Mall. If so, there is some
general policy and guidance information and a list of approved
concessioners listed on our website at:

2.) Are you seeking information related to issuing special use permits
for use of the National Mall sites to commercial entities. If so,
then there is some information available at:
http://www.nps.gov/nama/planyourvisit/permits.htm.

3.) Are you looking for information related to the issuing of permits
for commercial entities, such as pedicab operators, who want to
operate within the confines of the National Mall? If so, then there
is some information already available online at
http://parkplanning.nps.gov/documentsList.cfm?projectID=41383

In accordance with 43 CFR 2.8(a)(3), if we do not hear back from you
within twenty work days we will assume you are no longer interested in
this matter and will close the file on your request.
