To Whom It May Concern:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

A copy of the indices summarizing the contents in the following Church of Scientology file units, which are indexed as description-only records in OPA under Record Group 60: General Records of the Department of Justice, 1790 - 2002.

(1) ARC Identifier: 3740548; File Unit: (McGrath, Paul J) FBI Scientology; Series: Subject Files of the Assistant Attorney General, 1958 - 1993; http://research.archives.gov/description/3740548

(2) ARC Identifier: 3934573; File Unit: (Richardson, John N. Jr.) Church of Scientology; Series: Subject Files of Assistants to the Attorney General, 1974 - 1994; http://research.archives.gov/description/3934573

(3) ARC Identifier: 3967728; File Unit: (Civiletti, Benjamin R.) Scientology, Church of; Series: Subject Files of the Deputy Attorney General, 1975 - 1994; http://research.archives.gov/description/3967728

Please note, I am not asking for the actual documentation in these file units at this time. I am merely seeking an index outlining the contents in each file. I would also hope to see the total number of pages in each file included in these document listings, if possible.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest due to the extended history of controversies surrounding the Church of Scientology. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Ms. R. M. Seibert

Re: FOIA case number RD 45010

Dear Mr. Sgambettera,

Thank you for your response to my FOIA request (RD 45010) dated January 30, 2015. Based on the additional information from the file unit indices you so graciously provided, I wish to revise my request and reduce the scope of documents I initially inquired about to include only the following item:

(4) ARC Identifier: 4502452; Office of the Deputy Attorney General, Subject Files of the Associate Deputy Attorney General (Amy M. Lecocq), box 339, Interpol: Church of Scientology (NAID 1489243, Entry P 281).

Please confirm whether my requested change can be handled in this manner, or advise me on what alternative steps I should take to modify the scope of my request. Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter.

Sincerely,

Ms. R. M. Seibert
