This message is to notify you of a new appeal submission to the FOIAonline application. Appeal information is as follows:
* Appeal Tracking Number: DOJ-AP-2017-001691
* Request Tracking Number: 1361974-000
* Requester Name: Mike Best
* Date Submitted: 01/13/2017
* Appeal Status: Submitted
* Description: To the Director of the Office of Information Policy -
I am appealing the FBI's 12/7/16 blanket rejection of FOIAPA#1361974-000, regarding Relativity Media.
Considering that this file pertains to the next potential Secretary of the Treasury, there is a clear and immediate public interest that outweighs any privacy or investigatory concerns.
The American people have a right to know if the person tasked with overseeing vast swaths of the American economy, including regulating commercial banks and major financial institutions, is currently under investigation for financial crimes. I ask that you disclose that information as quickly as possible, allowing for whatever partial exemptions under b(6) or b(7) exemptions are necessary.

Please clarify the status of this request ASAP. On January 30, DOJ granted the appeal for release and expedited processing of the file for Relativity Media. FDPS check for 1361974-000 shows the request as closed. FDPS check for 1361974-001 does not return anything.

Thanks!
