Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
All written or electronic communications, including email attachments, sent or received by Regional Director Leo Miranda that contain one or more of the following words or phrases: "hellbender" and/or "salamander". This request seeks records produced between September 1, 2018 and the date this request is processed.
I am a reporter for The Guardian newspaper and seek a fee waiver, as any documents produced by this request will be used to inform the public about the agency's recent decision not to list the eastern hellbender under the ESA. If my fee waiver were to be denied, I would be willing to pay fees up to $25.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
