Good morning,
CIS Ombudsman is a part of Headquarters, Department of Homeland Security. CIS Ombudsman is sort of a DHS watchdog over USCIS. USCIS cannot request records from CIS Ombudsman, although CIS Ombudsman can and frequently does request information from USCIS. One may not request CIS Ombudsman records from USCIS. I am attaching a copy of the USCIS response to the appeal. The address for DHS Privacy Office is included with the USCIS response to COW2017001117, which you included as an attachment to your appeal.

Hello,
Thank you for your response. I appreciate the disclosure of documents. However, I am a bit concerned.
How can the USCIS justify the redaction and withholding of public court documents? I have attached the documents which appear to have been withheld.
I would like to understand why an exemption applied to these documents. Thank you.
