To Whom It May Concern:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

The October 10, 2014 memo creating the independent panel to conduct a review of the U.S. Secret Service, also known as the United States Secret Service Protective Mission Panel.

This October 2014 memo was referenced in the executive summary of the review panel's findings, dated December 15, 2014, the cover letter to which stated: "We write in response to your memorandum dated October 10, 2014 requesting an independent assessment and recommendations for the security of the White House compound, recommendation of candidates to be the next Director of the Secret Service and subjects for
further review."

The executive summary to the panel's report has been posted online here: http://www.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/publications/14_1218_usss_pmp.pdf

I also request that fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest, as well as given my status as a member of the news media/press. In addition to being posted online for the general public free of charge at MuckRock.com, the requested documents will be analyzed in the process of news gathering and synthesized into a distinct work.

To support my claim to news media fee status, please see the following samples of recent writing published on MuckRock as well as on other media outlets:

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
