Meese Report

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

A copy of the Attorney General's Commission on Pornography AKA the Meese Report, as well as all materials associated with the Meese Commission which consisted of Henry E. Hudson, chairman, Diane D. Cusack, Park Elliott Dietz, James Dobson, Father Bruce Ritter, Frederick Schauer, Deanne Tilton-Durfee, Judith V. Becker, Ellen Levine, Edward J. Garcia, Tex Lezar and Alan E. Sears.

I am a member of the news media and request classification as such. I have previously written about the government for AND Magazine, MuckRock and Glomar Disclosure. My articles have been widely read, with some reaching over 100,000 readers. As such, as I have a reasonable expectation of publication and my editorial and writing skills are well established.

I am appealing the integrity of the search, as no search was performed. While many of the records were sent to NARA, including some that are undoubtedly responsive to my request, others remain within the DOJ's possession. Almost undoubtedly, the DOJ retains a copy of the report within its library, records, etc. Indeed, other records from this time and some relating to this subject remain not only within the DOJ's possession, but on the DOJ's website.
