Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

The Official Military Personnel File (OMPF) for MARK L CASS including Form DD-214, all Fitness Report and Counseling forms NAVPERS Form 1610/2, NAVPERS form 1610/1, Enlisted performance evaluation reports NAVPERS Form 1616-1, NAVPERS Form 1611, Background Summary (NAVPERS Form 1640/32), Cumulative Record of Training (NAVPERS Form 5300/16), history of assignments NAVPERS 1070/605, Navy Training History NAVPERS form 601-4, all military decoration and full award citations, all military education/training courses, military service number.

Mark L Cass served in the united states navy from approximately ~1978 to 1998 active duty, USN retired enlisted service. Awarded numerous decorations including meritorious service medal, combat action ribbon, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, joint meritorious unit award, overseas service ribbon and etc . Specifically request copy of history of assignments NAVPERS form 1070/605 and copy of all commendation medal citations with redactions if necessary. This FOIA request is submitted to verify claim to be a U.S. military veteran.

I am general public and thus do not know the military service number. birth date unknown.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest . Mr Mark Cass is a longtime pilot/Captain with American Airlines, Inc. pilot of A319 / A321 commercial airplanes. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press .

The subject records reside in the custody of National Personnel Records Center NPRC in St Louis for servicemembers discharged before 1999. Mark Luke CASS was discharged from active duty in 1998. We will coordinate with National Personnel Records Center.
