SUBJECT: YOUR FOIA REQUEST TO HQMC [HQMC-201200257]

Dear Mr. Shemkovitz:

This refers to the subject Freedom of Information Act request for military record information about Marine
Jeffrey ScottBoucher.

Please be advised that on March 6, 2012, I initiated a records search for information pertaining to your
request. To date, your request is still in processing. We have received response regarding our records search.
However, I am working on 3 hot issues at the same time. I will take a look at his file, and work on a substantial
response some next week, if you are in agreement.

I apologize for the delay in responding to your request. However, due to limited manpower and resources
(one Analyst vs. three) over a six-months timeframe, we accrued a substantial backlog of 280+ FOIA request case files.
In April we received hired another Analyst. While we both are working diligently making efforts to reduce the backlog, your
request came to the forefront of our queue. After reviewing your request, I noticed additional information is needed in
order to accommodate you as expeditiously as I can. Please provide additional information that describes the type of
records you are seeking, such as service dates/duty stations, awards/decorations, etc.

Should you have any questions concerning this notice, please contact me at the telephone numbers provided
below or email me directly at mary.malone@usmc.mil.

V/r,

Mary Malone
FOIA Specialist
