The No Records response you sent on 13 December 2013, to a different email address, was for my FOIA Case #14-016, which I originally filed on December 6.
But this email address is for a different request of mine originally filed on December 5. It asked for "An index of files related to any presence of US Marine Force Recon in Mexico. Please limit this request to all responsive documents generated from Dec 31, 1999 and the date this request is processed." But I did not receive an answer; you instead referred me to your No Records respone for #14-016, which is a different case.
Please tell me if there are any records referring to any presence of US Marine Force Recon in Mexico any time from Dec 31, 1999 to the date this request is processed.
Sincerely,
Douglas Lucas

Mr. Lucas,
Sorry for the confusion and let me explain what happened to your FOIA request. Your request for "An index of files related to any presence of U.S. Marine Force Recon in Mexico" which was sent from the following email address: requests@muckrock.com was referred to a FOIA/PA specialist at Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps. Since you have written back to us inquiring about your FOIA request, I contacted their office to check on the status.
Your request, which was originally sent to our email address, was administratively closed due to duplication. This means you had sent the exact same request to their office and it was already working its way through the FOIA process. Your request was processed under the file number 2014-F000206 and a response to this request was sent to you on December 17, 2013 @12:59 EST. This response should have stated that your request was being referred to U.S. Northern Command for processing. To find out more information about this FOIA request, please contact U.S. Northern Command at the address that was provided to you. If for some reason you did not receive this response, please contact the FOIA Office, Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps at (703) 614-4008 and reference file number 2014-F000206. They will provide you with another copy of their final response letter.
I hope this email clears up any confusion you might have about your FOIA request. If you have any other questions, please contact the U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) FOIA Office at usasoc.foia@soc.mil or call our office at (910) 432-9233/432-2437.
Respectfully,
Ronald Corrado
