This is a request for a mandatory declassification review (MDR), under the terms of Executive Order 13526 of the following records:
All files, reports, memos, directives, communications, operational plans, and any other relevant materials regarding or referencing the well-known leader Malcolm X -- also known by the names Malcolm Little, el-Hajj Malik el-Shabazz, and other aliases. Please conduct a thorough review of all materials contained in all relevant files, databases and indies, including cross-reference indices, other databases, and the Central Records System. Please provide all reasonably segregable information.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
