This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

Any and all documents detailing the Mail Isolation Control and Tracking (MICT) program. Please include any and all relevant contracts, purchase orders, locations of physical hardware, emails, memos, PowerPoint presentations and requests for system access by the FBI or any other federal agencies.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Dear Mr. Jones:

This is in response to your emails dated September 22, 2013 and October 22, 2013, requesting the status of your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request – FOIA case number 2013-FPIS-00264.

Our records indicate that your letter dated June 10, 2013, was forwarded to the Inspection Service on June 28, 2013, for processing. The Inspection Service reviewed your request and assigned it FOIA No. 2013-FPIS-00264. On July 17, 2013, we sent you an acknowledgement letter stating your request was being processed.

I have since been advised that the Postal Service will be responsible for processing that portion of your request for records regarding the Mail Isolation Control and Tracking (MICT) program.

As such, your request to this office relating to the MICT program has been administratively closed. You should expect to receive a final response from the USPS Records Office.
