Mr. Jayne,

I'm emailing regarding your FOIA request, 18-FI-HQ-00139. In your request, you asked for complaints related to Kushner Companies and/or Westminster Management, including, but not limited to, several named properties in Maryland. The Fair Housing & Equal Opportunity program office ran a search for fair housing complaints related to these companies, and let me know that they turned up five results related to Westminster Management - two in Maryland, one in Delaware, and two in Ohio. They asked that I check with you to inquire whether you wanted the records for Ohio or Delaware, as this may indicate multiple organizations with that name (results turned up for Westminster Mgt. L.P. and Westminster Management Co.).

Please advise as to what portions of these records you are interested in, and I can proceed accordingly.
Best,

Hi, Ethan.

Thank you very much for your attention to my request and for reaching out to me to clarify this matter. Please do include all the records for Ohio and Delaware.

Also, I realize I neglected to include important language in my initial request related to fee category. I apologize for this omission. I request a waiver of fees for this request as a member of the news media. I am a freelance reporter whose work has been published with McClatchy Newspapers, The Investigative Fund and Al Jazeera English. I am currently working on projects for The Investigative Fund, Climate Home and MuckRock.

Thanks again for your time. Please let me know if anything else about my request is unclear.

Best regards,

Frank Matt

From: Department of Housing and Urban Development

Mr. Matt,

Thanks for the state-related clarification. Just so I am clear, are you asking for a fee waiver, or to be classified as a member of the news media? These are two separate things.
Best,

Ethan

From: Frank Matt

The latter, thank you!

Best,
Frank Matt
