Pursuant to the federal Freedom of Information Act, 5 U.S.C. § 552, I request access to correspondence within the below email address;

“william.kafka@navy.mil”

that include the following search terms:

“Mike Hixenbaugh”
“Hixenbaugh”

Please provide emails that include these terms in the body text, not correspondence between Mr. Hixenbaugh and the aforementioned email address.

Please provide email communication between 1 January 2015 - 31 December 2016.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

For instance, Mr. William Kafka is not in my global address list and may no longer be a government employee; however, in an effort to recover emails for him, I need to know at which agency/base he was employed with so we can reach out to the correct Command to respond to your request.

We cannot move forward with your request until clarification is provided. Please provide this information to us by 4 PM, May 23, 2018. If we do not hear from you by this date, we will close your request.

Dear Mr. Palladino,

Our office, COMNAVAIRPAC, received a fax referencing the subject FOIA
request from on you October 15, 2018, seeking a status update on the FOIA
request. The request was not handled or processed by the COMNAVAIRPAC
office, so we do not have any record of your request. However, I searched
for the case number in FOIA Online, and the system shows your case was
closed on Mary 30, 2018, because your request was too broad to allow for a
search of records and the office responsible for processing your request,
NAWCAD, was unable to contact you for clarifying information despite several
attempts to do so.

I have copied the FOIA POC for NAWCAD, Susan Mahoney, on this email. You
may contact her if you wish to resubmit another request or have questions
about the closure action.
