Greetings,

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I request the following record, which is suspect is held by DARPA:

Journal of Missile Defense Research, Volume 5, Number 2.

I suspect the record may be associated with the identifier "AD 389 890L" or "AD 389 S90L" and probably dates from the mid to late 1960s. I note that in request #20-F-0461, you released the cumulative index of the journal, which appears to itself be a subset of Volume 5 of the Journal.. This leads me to suspect the agency possess the remainder.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

I am willing to pay all applicable fees, however in the event that there are fees will exceed $50 I would appreciate if if you could inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your help. I understand the request may be delayed by the ongoing public health situation. I hope you and everyone there are staying well.

Sincerely,

Joseph Durso

Mr. Durso,

We received from OSD your three requests for various documents. We have
forwarded the requests to our reference unit. If they are able to locate
these they will let you know.

Have you requested similar documents before and if so do you recall
receiving a response

Please confirm receipt of this email.

Thank you

Mr. Fort,

Yes, I have received your most recent email, as well as your 4/20/2020 email, and an email on 4/22/2020 from Martin Gedra at the Textual Reference Archives II Branch. One of those was associated with requests@muckrock.com, and the other with requests@muckrock.com. I apologize for my delayed response. There have been COVID related circumstances on my end.

I appreciate you and Mr. Gedra responding to these referrals with everything that is going on. I know that my requests to various agencies in connection with this and various other matters have probably resulted in a number of vague referrals being punted into your agency's lap, and am aware that broadly speaking things at the Archives work differently than in the case of normal agency records. I had been planning on doing some research at College Park this summer looking for these and other records, and still intend to do so at some point in the future. As far as my Journal of Missile Defense Research/Journal of Defense Research requests referred to you, I would be thrilled and satisfied with your agency's response to get a hold of any information the referring agency sent over that might help me locate these records there in the future, or anything else you can provide that might point me in the right direction. Beyond that sort of thing, I don't have any expectation of your staff spending a huge amount of time combing through unindexed holdings looking for these records.

Again, sorry for the delayed response to your email. Thanks for your assistance as always.

Best,

Joseph Durso

Mr. Durso,

Was Mr. Gedra able to shed any light on your request for these items?

Unfortunately the OSD is not very good at providing the necessary
information to help us locate records in their holdings. I would be happy
to conduct a search of our system once we return to see if we in fact have
these items.

Thank you.
