To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

Under an interconnection security agreement between the DOJ's JMD and ICE/DHS, the agencies have agreed to share data via the DOJ Federation Services. Per the agreement between the two agencies, under the heading "Incident Reporting," each "organization will report incidents in accordance with DOJ Instructions 0900.00.01 and their own incident response procedures." Further the agreement states that JMD technical staff "upon discovery of a confirmed security incident related to this interconnection shall immediately notify the ICE ISSO and the DOJ Service Desk at 202-616-7100." If the determined level of risk warrants, "JMD technical staff shall report the incident to DOJCERT" which will prompt and investigation and coordinated remediation activities.

For its part, ICE, "upon discovery of a confirmed security incident related to this interconnection, shall immediately notify the JMD DOJ Federation Service owner and the ICE Security Operations Center." ICE then must "immediately notify their designated counterpart by telephone or e-mail when a security incident(s) is detected, so that their counterpart may take steps to determine whether the system has been compromised and/or to take appropriate action" and must "immediately notify the ICE ISSO."

Based on the above description, I am requesting each incident report under this agreement from your agency since January 1, 2017.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Matthew Hoppock
