Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following—
Any documents, files, records, or copies of documents, files, or records that contain data, findings, or statistics, as well as conclusions, from any studies, surveys, or assessments of greenhouse gas emissions, or GHG, from jet fuel use by the Defense Department, including but not necessarily limited to aircraft contrails and their impact on the climate.
Studies or assessments covered by this request may have been completed by the Defense Department's Climate Risk Analysis, the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Sustainment, or other offices within the Defense Department between October 1, 2016, and September 30, 2021.
If any studies, surveys or assessments were canceled or abruptly terminated during this time period, please provide a copy of any records, which reflect such cancellation or termination, as that relates and should be covered by this specific request for information.
As a professional reporter who has a track record of journalism on the Defense Department, I assert that I should be designated as a media requester for the purpose of assessing fees. Given the amount of public interest, I additionally ask that any and all fees be waived. In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of any and all charges in advance of fulfilling my request.
