This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

Any and all written and electronic correspondence—including to and from the Offices of the Treasury Secretary, Chief of Staff, Office of Tax Policy, Legislative Affairs—from November 9, 2016 through the present, pertaining to who will succeed the current commissioner John Koskinen, whether in Senate-confirmed or acting capacity, when Koskinen's term ends in November, 2017.

The requester is a full-time journalist. The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

I request a waiver of all fees for this request. Disclosure of the requested information to me is in the public interest because it is likely to contribute significantly to public understanding of the operations or activities of the government and is not primarily in my commercial interest.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
