Dear Graham,
Thank you for speaking with Charles Smiroldo and me today. Based on our conversation, our search of DOJ's Environment and Natural Resources Division records will be limited to the following:
* Final memoranda and reports about the Interagency Working Group on Environmental Justice (IWGEJ);
* Emails scheduling meetings of the IWGEJ and the meeting agendas; and
* Emails between the Department of Justice's Senior Litigation Counsel for Environmental Justice and other IWGEJ liaisons.
We will continue to process your request based on the abovementioned criteria. Please let us know as soon as possible if there are any additional clarifications to your request. Thank you.
Regards,
Laurie

Hi Mr. Kates,
Sorry once again for the delay. We had to track down another potential custodian of documents. And we are working with management regarding documents that may have to be reviewed by others before release. Once we work through those issues, we will be able to respond to your request. Thanks very much for your patience. We hope to have the process completed soon.

Good Morning Mr. Kates,
No further clarification is needed. We are in the processing of securing approval for release from one of the section attorneys who is out of the country. Then we will seek final approval from our management and get your response to you. Thank you for your patience. We are hoping to wrap this up within the next few weeks.
Thank you.

Good Morning Mr. Kates,
Your FOIA response was mailed yesterday afternoon. The response was too weighty to send by email so we had to burn documents onto a disk and mail it out to you along with our response letter.
Thanks very much.
