Good afternoon Ms. Best,

Thank you for your follow-up e-mail concerning your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, submitted to the Amtrak Office of Inspector General (OIG) on June 5, 2019. The OIG received your request and has assigned the following request ID number for purposes of tracking, reference, and correspondence: request ID 2019-OIG-015.

Your FOIA request, below, for records pertaining to "audits, reviews, investigations or reports regarding the agency's cyber security, including audits or investigations regarding the state of the agency's cyber security regarding potential attacks as well as audits and investigations conducted in the wake of a suspected or actual cyber attack, hacking incident or breach. Please include materials generated between 1 January 1996 and 30 June 2016" is rather broad and, as a result, has taken our office an unusually long time to search for responsive records.

We would like to offer you the opportunity to limit and/or narrow the scope of your request (e.g., time frame less than 20 years), so that it may be processed more expeditiously. Alternatively, we could discuss an alternative time for processing and response that is agreed upon (e.g., an additional 14 days).

If you have any questions or wish to discuss either clarification of your request or a possible extension for OIG response, you may contact me directly.

Thank you and have a great 4th of July holiday.
