Pursuant to the provisions of Executive Orders 12958, 13292, and 13526 I hereby request a Mandatory Declassification Review of the following records:

The "Red Book", a classification markings guide published by the Bureau of Intelligence and Research. This document was last reviewed five years ago.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter.

I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

In response to your inquiry, we contacted the Mandatory Review Branch within the Office of Information Programs and Services to inquire about the status of your request. Our office was advised that your request is in queue for processing and has a December 2021 estimated date of completion (EDC). Please note that EDCs are "strictly estimates" and not intended to be used as "actual" dates of completion, due to various extenuating factors, which may or may not include coordination with other Agencies during the process (referrals, concurrences, etc.).
